Wellington Rugby Limited is currently seeking a suitably qualified physiotherapist to work with the Vodafone Wellington Lions, and to assist with providing physiotherapy services to the Hurricanes. The successful candidate will have a proven track record working with and supporting elite athletes and / or sports teams. He / she will provide physiotherapy treatment working in close conjunction with the team doctor and strength and conditioning staff to ensure that the Vodafone Wellington Lions players receive the highest standard of medical services, prehabilitation and rehabilitation. A background in exercise prescription for injury prevention and rehabilitation is desirable. Beyond discipline-specific expertise and experience, candidates should have a good knowledge and understanding of the game as well as outstanding organisational, communication and interpersonal skills. The responsibilities of this position will include providing guidance to Wellington Rugby’s academy and representative team physiotherapists. Applicants should be qualified physiotherapists with: Membership of the New Zealand Society of Physiotherapists, holding a current New Zealand registration or capable of securing this membership before commencing this position; The ability to become an accredited ACC provider; 3 – 5 years clinical experience; Post graduate manipulation and / or sports therapy would be an advantage.
